General Conditions of Sale (GCS)

ARTICLE 1: Purpose

The General Terms and Conditions of Sale listed below apply to all persons making any purchase on the website (https://www.cardsinjapan.com) hosted by the Shopify platform.

These terms and conditions are communicated to buyers, who must read and accept them before making any purchase on the site.

All products sold on the site without exception have sufficient information to allow customers (buyers) to make informed purchases.

cardsinjapan cannot be held responsible for improper use of the products.

By accepting the General Terms and Conditions of Sale, customers confirm that they are of legal age (18 years or older) and fully assume the responsibilities that arise from purchasing products on the cardsinjapan.com website.

The products offered on the site are as follows:

  • Playing and collectible cards (second-hand) mostly Japanese graded or ungraded, whose characteristics are listed in the "information" section.
  • Official and sealed (new) booster packs and displays from the following TCGs (Pokemon, One Piece, Yu-Gi-Oh! Magic The Gathering...)
  • Display protectors

The boosters and displays offered on the site are all brand new and unopened.

ARTICLE 2: Price

The prices of items on the site are displayed in Euros excluding taxes (HT).

The prices shown are exclusive of VAT. No French VAT is charged by the seller. Duties and taxes may be applied by the authorities of the country of delivery and remain the responsibility of the buyer.

The prices shown at the time of ordering are firm and final, except in the case of obvious display errors.

The Japanese TCG market is very competitive, and item prices can fluctuate significantly beyond our control. Therefore, we reserve the right to adjust the prices of offered items, either upwards or downwards, based on market price variations.

The products are shipped from Japan to third countries and are therefore subject to the customs regulations specific to the countries into which they are imported.

Since these regulations are imposed by the countries into which the products are imported and are beyond our control, it is the responsibility of the buyers (customers) to familiarize themselves with these regulations (payment of VAT and customs duties).

The buyer is responsible for paying the fees associated with these regulations.

ARTICLE 3: Purchasing Process

During their visit to the website https://www.cardsinjapan, customers can choose the items they wish to purchase by selecting them and placing them in their virtual shopping cart.

The number of these items that can potentially be purchased will depend on the quantity of items in stock as well as any restrictions on the number of items sold per person.

ARTICLE 4: Payment

Payment will be processed exclusively through Shopify's payment platform (Shopify Payments). The website cardsinjapan.com does not store any banking information.

The seller reserves the right to cancel any order in case of suspected fraud or payment problem.

ARTICLE 5: Delivery


As the company is based in Chiba (Japan), the items offered on the site are shipped from Japan to third countries, primarily French-speaking countries (France, Belgium, Switzerland, etc.).

Products ordered on the site will be shipped within 3 working days following payment validation unless otherwise indicated to the customer prior to purchase validation.

Delivery will be made by Japanpost via EMS, Japanpost's fastest and most reliable delivery service.

This service allows us to track the package throughout its shipment to the address you provided, in addition to insuring it against damage or loss.


The price and estimated delivery time will be communicated before the purchase is finalized.


Each order will be accompanied by a tracking number which will be provided to the buyer once the package has been shipped by the seller.


It is the responsibility of the customer, hereinafter referred to as the buyer, to verify that the delivery information provided (Name, Surname, Address, etc...) is correct.


Any error in data entry by the customer leading to an inability to deliver the package and its return to our warehouse will not be subject to any claim against the buyer.


The procedure applied will therefore be as follows:

The seller will have to wait for the package to be returned. Once the seller receives the package, if everything is in order, they will issue a refund for the order only. Shipping costs will not be refunded if the error is due to the customer (buyer).

If we incur any costs beyond our control related to this return, we will deduct them from the order refund.

The customer (buyer) will have the option to place another order if they wish, making sure to change the delivery address beforehand.

In the event that the buyer has chosen to order a pre-ordered item, the shipping time will start from the official release date of the product and/or the date communicated on the product page by the seller.

If an order contains both pre-ordered and currently available items, the shipment will not be split into two parts. All items will be shipped within 5 business days from the release date of the pre-ordered item(s) and/or the date indicated on the product page by the seller.

The package may be subject to delivery delays beyond our control (customs delays, peak periods, strikes, etc.). Cardsinjapan, hereinafter referred to as the seller, cannot be held responsible for delivery delays if the previously communicated shipping timeframe has been met.

ARTICLE 6: Refunds and Right of Withdrawal

If you wish to return a newly purchased item, please note that you have a period of 14 days from the date of receipt of the package in accordance with European Directive 2011/83/EU.

All returns must be made without first contacting customer service at the following email address: contact.cardsinjapan@gmail.com

The seller will then have 3 working days to contact the buyer again.

Following discussions and after verifying the validity of the request, the seller will inform the buyer of the procedure to follow. The buyer will have 3 business days to return the package, otherwise the seller reserves the right to refuse the return request.

We reserve the right to refuse any return request in the following situations:

  • Product sold as new but has been opened by the customer (unsealed)
  • Product sold as "used" or "not new" (individual cards, mystery packs or even individual boosters to avoid any substitution)
  • The withdrawal period has expired (14 days from receipt of the package).

Please note:

  • Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer .

  • Delivery charges will not be refunded.
  • The refund will be issued once the returned package is received by the seller within 3 business days.
  • In case of an error on our part (defective product or wrong reference), we will cover the return costs and issue a partial or full refund depending on the order and in the event that part of the order has not been returned.

  • The transaction fees ( between 3.55% and 3.99% depending on the payment method used ) as well as the currency conversion fees (euros>yen of 2%) of the total order amount charged to us by Shopify will not be refunded by Shopify and will therefore be deducted from the total amount refunded.

To prevent any errors on our part, all order preparations may be subject to video review by us and may be used if the situation requires it.

ARTICLE 7: Legal Guarantees and Liability

The products sold conform to the description on the website. The seller is not responsible for misuse, normal wear and tear, or defects related to the printing/manufacturing by the official publishers (example: a printing defect on a card).

ARTICLE 8: Processing of personal data

The information collected by cardsinjapan is as follows:

  • Customer's first and last name
  • Phone number
  • Home address/delivery
  • email address

All this information is solely intended to ensure optimal order processing and delivery.

This information will be stored on the website https://www.cardsinjapan.com as long as the customer account to which it is associated remains active.

The seller reserves the right to delete any customer account that has been inactive for more than one year from the date of the last purchase on the site/account creation.

The customer will be notified by email if this procedure is carried out.

The customer has the right to request that the seller delete this information at any time.

Since this information is necessary for account creation and mandatory in order to place any order on the site, any request to delete this information will result in the deletion of the customer account and the information linked to it.


ARTICLE 9: Intellectual Property

All elements present on the cardsinjapan.com website, whether visual or audio, including the structure, design, texts, photographs, illustrations, logos, trademarks, videos, database and other content, are protected by intellectual property rights and are the exclusive property of Cardsinjapan or its contractual partners, unless otherwise indicated.

The buyer acknowledges that:

  • The Pokémon™, Yu-Gi-Oh!™, One Piece Card Game™, Magic The Gathering™ brands, as well as all other brands and logos relating to the products offered for sale, are registered trademarks belonging to their respective publishers (Nintendo / The Pokémon Company, Konami, Bandai, Wizards of the Coast, etc.).

  • Cardsinjapan is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by these companies and acts solely as an independent reseller of original and official products.

  • The descriptions, product images and visuals used on the site are solely for the purpose of presenting and promoting the items offered for sale.

Any reproduction, representation, adaptation, distribution or use, in whole or in part, of the content of the website cardsinjapan.com for commercial, advertising or other purposes, without prior written authorization from the seller, is strictly prohibited and would constitute an infringement under the French Intellectual Property Code as well as applicable international laws.

The buyer agrees not to exploit, reproduce or use, in any way whatsoever, the elements of the site, except for strictly personal and private use related to their order.

ARTICLE 10: Applicable Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms and Conditions are governed by Japanese law. However, in the case of sales to consumers located in the European Union, the protective provisions of European consumer law remain applicable.

ARTICLE 11: Pre-orders

Anything described as being on pre-order can only be shipped from the release date or, failing that, the date indicated in the product description.

Since the main purpose of pre-orders is to determine approximately the number of products to order from our supplier, we reserve the right to refuse any order cancellation request if it contains a pre-ordered item.

ARTICLE 12: Force Majeure

In the event of force majeure, cardsinjapan reserves the right to cancel any order or pre-order that contains an unintentional error.

Please note:

  • Item with a price displayed at more than 50% less than the manufacturer's recommended retail price (unless the item is on sale)
  • This is a pre-ordered item paid for by the buyer, but our supplier has reduced or canceled our shipment without our permission. (The TCG market is subject to high demand, and it's not uncommon for manufacturers to limit the production of certain expansions. Retailers like cardsinjapan are generally powerless in this situation and cannot fulfill their customers' pre-orders.) We usually try to warn customers about this in advance by adding a comment to the item description when our supplier informs us.
  • Insufficient stock. When an error is made regarding the number of items in stock, if we cannot fulfill the order, we will be forced to cancel it.
